Roger Waters (top), co-founder of Pink Floyd, is in a feud over his ant-Israel position with radio host Howard Stern (bottom).

On Friday, October 30th, Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Water replied to some of comments made by Howard Stern, who, on his radio show, had recently slammed Waters for his anti-Israel positions. Roger Waters in a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine defended his call for a cultural boycott of Israel, reports Radio.com.

“The analogy is when the civil rights struggle in the southern states of the United States,” he said. “And pre-Mandela South Africa. We all know how important the cultural and sports boycott of South Africa became in the organizing of global civil society to express the generally heartfelt horror of the way the white supremacist South African government was oppressing the black population of that country.”

In the same interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Waters was asked about the comments made by “The King of all Media,” who had said earlier this month, “Israel has this tiny little country and it bugs the sh*t out of Roger Waters.” Stern added, “Where do you want the Jews to go, Roger? You want them to just go back to the concentration camp?” reported The Jerusalem Post.

According to The Jerusalem Post, Stern was commenting on an open letter Waters had written to Bon Jovi, reprimanding the rock band for playing a show in Tel Aviv less than three-weeks-ago. In his letter, Waters allegedly said that, “Bon Jovi stands with Israeli settlers who burn Palestinian babies.”

Waters also makes it clear that it is the Israeli government, not the Jewish people he critiques.

“It’s not the Israeli people, not Jews and not Judaism,” said Roger Waters. “I would never dream of attacking them. In fact, a lot of the Israelis are the people who are putting the most into fighting the hardest because they believe it is the most effective tool for changing policies of their own government.”

The Pink Floyd co-founder did not have much to say about Howard Stern, who has been a vocal critic. “I wouldn’t waste a single one of my precious breaths on that a**hole, and I just did. That was a waste of breath. Let’s move on.”
