The NYPD released this sketch of the suspect in the Borough Park Hate Crime assault.

On Saturday, August 29, police announced that the late June assault on an Orthodox Jewish man in Brooklyn’s Borough Park is being investigated by the NYPD as a bias crime.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., on Tuesday, June 23, an older gentleman of 67 years was walking home from synagogue near 44th Street and 9th Avenue, when the suspect snuck up on him from behind. The victim was punched in the face multiple times as the suspect spewed anti-Semitic verbal abuse. After the assault, the victim was treated for swelling and bruising of his face, head and eyes at Maimonides Hospital. He was later released without further complications.

Unfortunately, the violent, prejudice suspect is still on the loose. The NYPD requested help from the public and released a artist’s sketch of the suspect on Saturday.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
