42-year-old Benny Price was arrested in connection with an armed robbery of Jewish businessman in Brooklyn

The NYPD has arrested 42-year-old Benny Price in connection with an armed robbery on a Jewish businessman in his office in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn last week, police sources told JP.

As reported, the 33-year-old man was in his office located at 31 Warsoff Place when a masked man entered his office and demanded money. Out of shock, the man ran out and fell down some steps. The burglar ran after him and with a gun to his head, at which the businessman complied and handed over $4000 in cash, police said.

Price, from Brooklyn, then took off with a getaway driver, identified as 33-year-old Daneil Delarosa, who waited for him at the next corner. An employee started to follow the robber with his truck, and the businessman ran to the corner of the street where he flagged down a police officer.

Delarosa was later charged with robbery.

Police said he covered the front and back license plates with plastic bags. During questioning, Delarosa told detectives that the suspect, arrested on Monday, March 30, was driving the car, when he told him to take over the wheel while he’s going up to the office of his former employer. The person returned shortly after short of breath, and ordered him to flee. After driving 3 blocks, Delarosa said he stopped and told his friend that he’ll not proceed in aiding him in whatever he was to accomplish. Delarosa insisted he doesn’t know who the suspect his. He was released on $2,000 bail.

Detectives searched for Price at his mother’s home and at his workplace several times, but he escaped them, and turned himself in on Monday morning to the 79th precinct, sources said.

Police officials described Price as a career criminal with multiple prior arrests, including charges of attempted murder. Price was charged with robbery.
