The “Zionist camp” unity party of Labor and Hatnua retraced its steps regarding support for the barring of openly pro-Hamas Arab MK Hanin Zoabi, after the Arab parties threatened they would not join a coalition formed by Labor.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) had harsh words for the Labor party on Tuesday, writing on Facebook “it’s not enough to call yourself ‘the Zionist camp’ – a true Zionist doesn’t submit to the threats of the Arabs.”

“The submission to threats from the Arab sector, which caused the heads of the ‘Zionist camp’ to retract their support for outlawing Hanin Zoabi from running for the Knesset, is a continuation of the dangerous deterioration by which public sources and institutions submit to Arab terror,” charged Liberman.

Liberman then remarked on his push for free speech against the High Court ban on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which recently was attacked by Islamic terrorists for publishing cartoons of Mohammed, the founder of Islam.

“Just as it is forbidden to agree that the Israeli public won’t be able to freely buy the French magazine because it published a caricature of Mohammed, so too it is forbidden for (Yitzhak) Herzog and (Tzipi) Livni to agree to this folding of their party,” he pressed.

Framing the events as a vicious cycle, he added “every submission like this only brings the next submission, and whoever agrees to it allows the erosion and endangerment of Israel as a Jewish state.”

“I call on them (Labor) to regain their composure and stand behind their announcement from several days ago saying that ‘Zoabi crossed all the red lines of tolerance and democracy,’ and make sure Zoabi won’t be able to run for Knesset, because they also know that Hanin’s place is in Jenin,” Liberman concluded.

While Labor has pulled its support for a banning of Zoabi, it apparently is continuing its press to outlaw Liberman and his Yisrael Beytenu party, as well as Baruch Marzel of Otzma Yehudit who is running with Eli Yishai’s Yachad – Ha’am Itanu on a joint list.               (INN)
