Emmy-winning former “Everybody Loves Raymond” co-star Brad Garrett is getting a second chance at ABC.

Garrett, who starred last season on ABC’s short-lived “How to Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life),” has signed a deal to shoot a pilot for a new sitcom based on his upcoming book, “When the Balls Drop.”

Garrett will write the script for the pilot, also called “When the Balls Drop,” along with Chuck Tatham (“How I Met Your Mother”).

The show will revolve around a divorced, middle-aged man trying to strike a balance between his professional and personal lives.

That’s also the focus of Garrett’s memoir, being published by Simon & Schuster.

Garrett will be one of the pilot’s executive producers.

The deal he signed with 20th TV will allow the studio to cast him in an existing pilot project if “When the Balls Drop” does not get made, according to deadline.com.

The 53-year-old actor was nominated for five Emmy Awards – winning three statuettes – for his portrayal of Robert Barone, the sad-sack older brother of Raymond (Ray Romano) on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” which ran for nine seasons on CBS, ending in 2005.

Garrett also starred on Fox’s “’Til Death” with Joely Fisher, which ran for four seasons – jumping around the network’s schedule – and received an Emmy nomination for “Gleason,” in which he portrayed legendary TV comedian Jackie Gleason.

Garrett’s other TV work includes roles on “King of Queens,” “Monk,” “Roseanne,” and a memorable episode of “Seinfeld” in which he played a mechanic who steals Jerry’s (Jerry Seinfeld) car.

Garrett also headlined a 2008 online series, “Dating Brad Garrett,” and has done extensive voiceover work on a plethora of children’s cartoons.”

In 2005, Garrett made his Broadway debut in the revival of Neil Simon’s classic “The Odd Couple,” playing Murray the Cop opposite Nathan Lane as Oscar Madison and Matthew Broderick as Felix Unger.
