Popular pizza parlor Pizza Luzzo has decided to open a Kosher branch. Luzzo, a popular East Village fixture, is a joint enterprise between Michele Luzzo and real-estate big shots Alex Sapir, Rotem Rosen, and Paolo Zampolli. The new store will be located at 261 Madison Ave off of 37th St. Its owners hope it will expand into a chain, the New York Times reported

Pizza Luzzo has a four-star rating on Yelp, which is replete with enthusiastic reviews of the pizzeria. They are known for their sauce, crust, and authentic Italian vibe.

“LOVE their pizzas!  Honestly the best crust I’ve had to date!” said one enthusiastic Yelper.

“Guuuuuggghhh the greatest pizza. I consider myself a pizza snob, this place, unbelievable. Get the calzone and the arugula and prosciutto pizza… Mmmm mmmm the sausage and broccoli rabe pie is good too!” said another.

“I’m from Italy and never had in America a pizza like back home until I tried Luzzo’s, but I could never enjoy it with my partners who eat only kosher,” Zampolli said.

Zampolli said he wanted to be able to have some Pizza Luzzo with his partners, who eat only Kosher.

Zampolli also announced that Pizza Luzzo will be offered via takeout at Koi, which is located at Spring St’s Trump SoHo, of which Sapir and Rosen are developers. They also own 261 Madison.

Zampolli and Co. are likely aiming to follow in the footsteps of Bravo Pizza. The popular chain opened a Kosher branch on Broadway off of 37th St, to great success.
