Mrs. Adler, a Brooklyn based wife, mother, and businesswoman is quickly becoming the new source of wisdom for singles in the Jewish community. Her book, 1,000 Questions to Ask Before Getting Married, is based on 100’s of interviews, friendly conversations, anonymous tips, life experiences, college course insight, communication standards in business and more. Mrs. Adler breaks down the 1,000+ questions into core questions and follow-up questions. Plus, there are self-reflection quizzes, hypothetical situations to ponder and straight insight.

The meticulously constructed book targets the Jewish community and includes specific questions to ask the Baal Teshuva, FFB, convert, divorced, and divorced with children and more. The 1000+ questions range from first date icebreakers to discovering emunah levels and even help with asking those tricky financial questions.

Originally, Mrs. Adler got the idea to create this dating guide after creating her own list of questions to ask while she was dating for marriage. She noted that there were far less questions on that list but they were important to her nonetheless.

What did her formerly ‘potential’ spouse think of all this? Husband, Mr. Eli Adler says, “I loved the questions she asked. I knew she was interested in me as opposed to just interested in getting married in general. I think many men can feel interchangeable to women but when a woman is asking you real questions the pressure of making sure she is genuine goes out the door. ”

Questions in the book include those tricky finance questions. One affluent wife and mother, in her late 50’s, wished to remain anonymous but passionately gave her views on the pre-marital finance questions, “Discussing finances is extremely important nowadays. Kids have student loans and when you take on a spouse you need to know if you are taking on a 100k debt – especially, if you are marrying a the cliché doctor type.”

“From my research, what I found was that financial questions were something that people wanted to talk about but they felt weird bringing up specific financial details. Now, you don’t have to feel bad – just blame me, say the book made you ask,” says Mrs. Adler.

The Jewish Voice believes that this insightful guide is priceless. Marriage is the core foundation of the community. It is what keeps families blooming. Marriage and the unique bond that a female and male bring to the home, the community and Jews around the world is best flourished in love. Knowing the questions to ask before marriage does not only help people get married but can lead them to their best matches.

The shidduch crisis, which previously seemed untamable, could very well have met its match. 1,000 Questions to Ask Before Getting Married is a beacon of hope to the singles in our community who are ready for change. From single to simcha, IY”H.

1,000 Questions to Ask Before Getting Married is now on shelves at Eichler’s Coney Island Location. It is also for sale Amazon.com.
