A large group of community leaders and elected officials convened last week in Borough Park to celebrate the exciting new partnership between the Bikur Cholim Chesed Organization and Investors Bank. The celebration attracted a number of prominent elected officials including Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz; Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, and Councilmembers Brad Lander, Mark Weprin and Jumaane Williams. They were all warmly welcomed by Bikur Cholim CEO, Rabbi Avi Fishof.

Investors Bank has established a significant presence in various Jewish communities by providing a stellar array of banking services in ways that have classically defined traditional banking, but over the years have been supplanted by an impersonal “once size fits all” banking experience that has resulted in disappointed consumers and communities.

In an era of government cutbacks and shrinking budgets, nonprofit organizations are increasingly recognizing the imperative to take an innovative approach to raising capital, and they are thus constantly seeking out new sources of funding. In this regard, the partnership between Bikur Cholim Chesed Organization and Investors Bank is being widely heralded as the onset of a new era of philanthropic engagement.

Bikur Cholim Chesed Organization/Guardians of the Sick is devoted to easing the burden of members of our community who are less fortunate.  Patients in need of financial assistance, dysfunctional families, disadvantaged children, the elderly and those requiring medical equipment all receive vital personal assistance from this organization with compassion and understanding. Through its many programs, Bikur Cholim Chesed Organization strengthens the fabric of life within the local Orthodox community.

“I would like to express our deepest appreciation to Investors Bank, and to its President and CEO Kevin Cummings for creating a corporate philosophy that values partnership with community based organizations that provide a social safety net” said Avi Fishof, CEO of Bikur Cholim. In response, Kevin Cummings reiterated his firm belief in the strong fabric of the Jewish community and pledged further support of its integral community-based organizations.
