Will it be a ‘Hit’?

Israeli model Bar Refaeli is set to star in an Israeli-French film about a 2010 alleged Mossad hit.

The film, titled Kidon, or “Javelin” in English, is a comedy to be directed by Emmanuel Nakash, and is to be filmed starting next month.

The film is a humorous take on the events associated with the assassination of Hamas member Mahmoud al-Mabhoh, which occurred in 2010 in Dubai. Refaeli is cast beside star Shai Avivi, who will portray a Mossad agent who currently works at a desk after years of leading assassination teams.

The assassination was a major story in 2010 and is widely believed to be the work of Mossad, and closed-circuit television footage allegedly showed Mossad members in the hotel where al-Mabhoh was staying. In the film, Mossad agents were not responsible for the assassination at all, and are in fact the most surprised by the assassination, as they are the only ones who know Mossad had nothing to do with it. Both the Israeli police and Mossad move quickly to find out who was actually behind the assassination, and eventually discover an elaborate plot committed by a combination of French, Russian, and Iranian diplomats as well as members of Mossad itself.

Refaeli and Avivi will star alongside Reymond Amsalem, Liron Levo, Salim Dau, Sasson Gabai, Israel Katorza, Amos Tamam, and Menashe Noy in the film.
