Following protests from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, YouTube removed a series of ten animated anti-Semitic and Holocaust Denial clips, saying that they were in violation of the video site’s policy prohibiting hate speech. The videos are animated versions of the notorious Iranian book from 2008 that in its preface, seeks to “denounce the conspicuous lie of the ‘planed [sic] murder of 6 million Jews during the Second World War’ allegedly called ‘Holocaust’. The lie that is so obvious that there is no need for any further explanation. The lie by which the Palestine occupier Zionists have justified their occupying of Palestine and lots of their crimes for years.”

The YouTube videos were uploaded from holocartoons.com, a multimedia site that includes downloadable versions of the original 2008 book in Persian, Arabic, English, Spanish, and French. The YouTube videos were uploaded from holocartoons.com, a multimedia site that includes Persian, Arabic, English, Spanish, and French sections.  The cartoons, mock the 6 million victims of the World War II Nazi genocide, while demonizing world Jewry and the state of Israel. “The Wiesenthal Center commends YouTube for removing many of the animated caricatures of hate posted from Tehran. This regime’s hatred knows no bounds when it comes to the Jewish People, our faith, and history,” said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the leading Jewish human rights NGO. “Tehran’s pre-genocidal rhetoric extends even to dead Jews and we call upon UN Chief Ban Ki-Moon and other leaders to use the International Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations on January 27th, to denounce the Iranian regime’s Holocaust Denial campaign,” he added.

Last month, following a request from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Facebook immediately removed an anti-Semitic Facebook page posted from Iran, which was replete with genocidal threats and slanders against Israel, the Jewish people, and Judaism.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is one of the largest international Jewish human rights organizations with over 400,000 member families in the United States. It is an NGO at international agencies including the United Nations, UNESCO, the OSCE, the OAS, the Council of Europe and the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino).
