The Kobi Arad Band, featuring Kobi Arad on piano and vocals, Ramon De-bruyn on bass and Ray McNaught on drums, is appearing for the third time in Blue Note NYC. With their innovative, genre-bending mix of ambient-smooth and modern jazz, have managed to perform in such noteworthy New York City venues venues, as The Blue Note, The Knitting Factory, Sugar Bar, The Cutting Room and Tonic. Focusing on Nu-Jazz, while offering exotic and freshcompositions from their first album ‘Innovations,’ their recently launched, ‘Sketches of Imaginary Landscapes,’ and their exciting new project: ‘Inner Hymns.’  
This show debuts the band’s new project ‘Inner Hymns,’ focusing on Jewish esoteric hymns, aimed to elevate and attune the listener to higher spiritual states as in the Levitical temple tradition. Kobi Arad Band adds harmonic, textural and lyrical sonorities from the world of modern music. The result is a colorful and touching blend of mysticism, artistic abstraction, inner repose and reflection. Echoing  their cutting edge Lincoln Center Jazz show earlier this season, as well as Pandora Radio featured albums: Kobi’s World I & II – the Kobi Arad Band shall present in this show some stylistic stretches of Jazz, Funk and Soul.    
On Jan. 29th , The Kobi Arad Band will do their Third show in Jazz at Blue Note NYC.                   
This time around, Kobi Arad Band shall present two exciting sets in the early afternoon. The first starting 12:20 pm, and the second at 2:30 pm. Price at the door is $25 and includes one jazz set and brunch*.

Kobi Arad might very well be one of the most prominent, prolific and versatile pianists and composers to emerge from Israel in recent years. Having collaborated with many great artists such as Stevie Wonder,  Cindy Blackman and Jack DeJohnette, Kobi’s soulful style brings together sprinklings of classical modern, jazz and neo-soul music that any lover of Jazz would definitely enjoy. Kobi is also in discussions with, Stevie Wonder’s daughter, Aisha, about collaborating on her new, up coming album. Dr. Arad has performed at the prestigious Tel Aviv Museum of Art, politicians at the Knesset and has appeared on the televised series ‘The Music of Ravel’. He is also the first musician to ever receive a Doctorate in the field of contemporary improvisation and Third Stream. His albums, which include include, Innovations, Neun Kleine Stucke Fur Elektronische Orchester and Ancient Novice all exemplify diversity of style, deep musical integrity as well as notable musicianship.
